Orange Pineapple Smoothie

An orange pineapple smoothie has a real zingy taste that is hard to resist. It's one of those invigorating vitamin packed drinks that can be consumed at any time of day but personally for me it makes a perfect wake me up breakfast because I just love the taste.

In the dead of winter it's sometimes hard to shake off those dreaded head colds or worse chest colds. This drink is brimming full of vitamin C which is perfect to help you fight all those unwanted bugs.

Oranges and Pineapples have amazing health benefits which give our skin that glowing healthy look.

The pineapple is rich in vitamin C and fibre. They also include an enzyme called bromelain which aids digestions and encourages our skin to look blotch free.

The orange is also rich in vitamin C and fibre and, depending on the variety, can taste sweet or bitter.

Vitamin C strengthens your immune system while aiding healing. Sometimes if the doctor prescribes iron tablets for anaemia he will also advise you to increase your intake of vitamin C. This is because vitamin C aids iron consumption. Our smoothie is made with coconut milk which is a good source of zinc which helps hair growth. It's also full of calcium, magnesium, potassium and vitamin B.

Sweeeeet Orange Pineapple Smoothie
  • 2 oranges
  • half pineapple
  • half pint of coconut milk
  • 1tsp of runny honey
Peel the oranges and pineapple before juicing. Add the fruit juice to the coconut juice and mix in the honey before pouring into a glass to serve.

Yogurt Orange and Pineapple Smoothie
  • 2 oranges
  • half pineapple
  • 1 carton of natural yogurt or half pint of coconut milk
Juice the oranges and pineapple after peeling them. Add the yogurt to the fruit juice before serving.

Coconut Orange and Pineapple Juice
Instead of an orange pineapple smoothie try a juice for a change
  • 1 pineapple
  • 2 oranges
  • 1 small sized coconut or a 5tbls of powdered coconut
Peel the pineapple and the oranges. Take the flesh out of the coconut. If you are using powdered coconut, mix it into the pineapple and orange juice using a blender. Juice the pineapple, oranges and coconut before pouring into a glass with ice.
