The Health Benefits Of Pineapple Are Amazing.

Tinned pineapples are OK but you just can't beat a fresh pineapple for taste. Once you have tried a fresh one there is just no going back and besides tinned ones have lost a lot of the goodness that fresh ones have.

The pineapple is one of the most recognizable fruits and makes a wonderful centre piece for any dinner table.

But it's not just good looks which attract me to this fruit - smell it's wonderful aroma and you're hooked even before you taste the sweet delicious fruit.

Rich in the enzyme bromelain and the antioxidant vitamin C they are excellent for maintaining health and helping solve many health issues such as arthritis.

Choose a pineapple that feels heavy, its leaves should feel and look healthy and stiff.

If you want to test for ripeness gently pull one of the small bottom leaves, it should come away from the fruit easily. If the fruit has brown leaves avoid it and find another.

Health Benefits of Pineapple Recipes

  • 65gr dried apricots
  • 1/2 pineapple
Juice pineapple until you have about 350ml of juice. Pour into a bowl and add the dried apricots to the juice. Leave to sit for a few hours or better still overnight. Pour mixture into a blender and blend until smooth.
  • 1/2 parsnip
  • 1 carrot
  • 1/2 pineapple
  • 75ml low fat milk
Juice together parsnip, carrot and pineapple. Pour into a glass with milk and stir before drinking.
  • 1/2 pineapple
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1 lemon
Peel the lemon and remove outer skin of pineapple before juicing together. Place juice in a blender with avocado and blend until smooth.
