Apple and Celery juice make a powerful combination which your immune system will thank you for.


Let’s talk about celery first of all. Celery is a dieter’s dream as it’s so low in calories they are not worth thinking about.

It is full of fibre and antioxidants which help fight all sorts of diseases as well as help prevent premature ageing.

There’s a massive amount of water contained in celery (about 95%) but in amongst the water are small amounts of potassium, folic acid and vitamin C, and it’s rich in iron and magnesium making it a powerful combination which can help regulate blood pressure and rebuild red blood cells.

It’s a great juice to have after taking part in any sport as it replaces lost electrolyte after a work out.

Buying and Storage

The best celery is bought when it is in season during the winter.

Buy celery that hasn’t been washed as they taste the best. Obviously avoid buying celery which has limp leaves and is looking sorry for itself.

Celery will store nicely in the refrigerator for a few days; however if it goes limp try reviving it by
standing it like a flower in a jar of water as it will soak some of the liquid up.

The celery in the juice gives it a natural salty taste which is very palatable.

A celery stick makes a great natural stirrer which can be added to any fruit juice.


The saying an apple a day keeps the doctor away has a lot of truth in it as an apple has many benefits, although it also has fewer vitamins and minerals than many other fruits. However that said they do have vitamin A and calcium and iron.

1. There is evidence to suggest that an apple a day can considerably help ease asthma in children and adults.

2. Flavanoids in apples can help post-menopausal women from osteoporosis.

3. Pectin in the apple skin can help lower cholesterol.

4. Apples are great when you are on a diet as they are full of flavour and have few calories - about 65 calories an apple depending on size.

Buying and Storage

Buy apples which are free of bruises and store in a cool place. If one of the apples goes bad remove it immediately as it will infect others making them bad too.

Apple and celery juice makes such a healthy powerful combination but it not just the benefits as you have to try this juice for its delicious taste which you will soooo enjoy.

The Recipe

  • 2 apples
  • 4 celery stalks
No need to peel the apples before juicing - in fact it’s best not to as hidden in the peel are lots of healthy pectin.

Serve in a tall glass with a celery stick as a stirrer and sit back and enjoy your apple and celery juice.
