It’s a well known fact that eating raw fruit and vegetables are far better for you than eating cooked. However how many people enjoy eating raw vegetables? A raw carrot is tasty but let's be honest a raw sprout or cauliflower does not have much appeal. Juicing can be the answer, turning those unappealing vegetables into something delicious.

Fresh fruit and vegetables harbour many vitamins and minerals essential for energy, health and a fresh glowing skin. They are packed with anti-oxidants to accelerate healing, and are low in calories, so can be eaten or drunk in abundance.

Make the most of our juicer detox recipes. The best way is to use a juicer because unlike a liquidiser/blender it separates the fibrous pulp from the juice. Buy yourself a good juicer. Some can be expensive but worth the money as the cheaper ones tend to juice so quickly they heat the fruit therefore losing lots of vital vitamins, enzymes and minerals.

You should not be daunted by drinking liquid fruit and vegetable juice for one day, as it is refreshing and delicious to drink and by the end of the day you will be looking and feeling great. However you can detox up to 3 days but please make sure before you start that you have no underlying health condition. If in any doubt consult your doctor.

Pregnant women should not attempt to go on a detox.

THE PLAN
  • Wake up to a refreshing lemon squeezed into a glass of warm water.
  • Drink 5 - 6 glasses of our juicer detox recipes throughout the day.
  • Lemon and water can be drunk at any time during this day.
  • If you feel you must munch on some food try eating an organic piece of fruit.

Choose a time to detox when you don’t need to rush around and you can enjoy making our juicer detox recipes. Perhaps at the weekend or when you have a few days off work. Please don’t choose a day when you are rushing about trying to beat deadlines as you might be tempted to indulge. If you feel the need to eat something, rather than drink, go for a piece of fruit or perhaps try munching a tasty carrot.

When making juicer detox recipes, choose fresh organic fruit and vegetable pieces which have no bruising on them. Make sure all fruit and vegetables are washed before using. Home-made juice is delicious and will have a completely different appearance than when poured from a carton out of the fridge. Home-made juice is thicker and sometimes comes with a froth on top. Take it easy with the carrot juice unless you want a fake suntan, as too much can make you orange - yes really!

Juicer Detox Recipes

Morning Cleanse
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 beetroot
  • 1 apple
  • ½ lime
  • 2cm fresh ginger
Peel the lime. Top and tail the carrot. Peel the ginger. Juice together all ingredients. Pour into a glass and enjoy.


Cucumber Cleanse

Cucumber makes a juice really smooth and thick. They are a great cleanser with their diuretic and laxative properties with the added bonus of improving skin, nails and hair.
  • ½ cucumber
  • 1 apple
  • 4 mint leaves
Take the core out of the apple, then place all ingredients into juicer, before pouring into a glass to be enjoyed.


Energy Drink

This juice provides iron and calcium, giving you loads of energy. A good pick me up when you are flagging during the day.
  • 215g strawberries
  • 1 orange
  • 150 redcurrants
  • 1tsp honey
Juice the above fruit together. Add enough water (about 250ml) and honey for taste.


Apple and Carrot Juice
  • 4 carrots
  • 2 strong tasting apples, such as granny smiths
Juice the above ingredients together. Add water to taste if required.


Veggie Cooler

This recipe is brimming over with vitamins A, C, E and folic acid.
  • 3 carrots
  • 2 apples
  • 2 sticks of celery
  • Handful of parsley
Juice the above ingredients and enjoy in a glass with ice.


Sweet Sensation

Pineapple has an enzyme in it which helps reduce inflammation and aids digestion.
  • 1 sweet orange
  • 1 lemon
  • ½ pineapple
Juice all the above ingredients together and enjoy.
