Our coffee smoothie recipes are a tasty way to enjoy coffee. There are a few negative as well as positive health comments made about coffee but everything in moderation is the key.

First let’s talk about some of the negatives about coffee:

1. Drinking a cup of coffee will stimulate the production of the hormone adrenaline. This in itself is not a bad thing, however, as quickly as you feel the effects of extra energy the adrenaline gives you, will just as quickly feel the effects of the decrease in energy.

2. Caffeine disrupts the hormone which has a calming effect on the brain, therefore it can cause you to be a little stressed.

3. Caffeine raises cortisol levels which in turn restricts blood arteries - causing high blood pressure.

4. Very often pregnant women feel repulsed at drinking coffee - this is nature’s way of protecting her baby as caffeine will stay in the growing child’s body for about four days which will cause sleeplessness and agitation.


Now we have talked about some of the negatives let’s see what the positives are to allow you to enjoy your coffee smoothie recipes.

coffee smoothie 1. People who have worked long shifts and need to stay awake will drink coffee to give them an extra boost.

2. It has been proved that a cup of coffee before exercising will speed up your fat metabolism.

3. A coffee can help avert the crystallization of cholesterol.

4. A cup of coffee can help prevent and relieve the symptoms of asthma due to a substance called theophylline.

5. Coffee is loaded with anti oxidants which help ward off ageing.

Go ahead and enjoy your smoothie - everything in moderation.

It is not advisable to give children coffee. Be safe and choose another smoothie for them instead.

In our coffee smoothies recipes we have used a sugar free caramel coffee syrup which can also be used in many other drinks such as

fruit juice
milk (cold or hot)
coffee
chocolate
perfect with fresh pineapple juice
cocktails

We have used cows’ milk but coconut or soya milk are an excellent replacement.


Coffee Smoothie Recipes

Dark Delight

Put all the ingredients into a blender and mix for a few seconds.

Make a Mocha Smoothie

  • 6 ice cubes
  • 1 cup of low fat milk
  • 1 teaspoon of coffee
  • 1 teaspoon of chocolate syrup
  • ½ banana
  • 2 dates
  • Dash of cinnamon
Put all the ingredients into a blender and mix for a few seconds.
